Chi-Town

August 5, 2016
Where to begin? So my best friend & I decided to jet set into a new adventure this past week and visit the infamous Chicago and I must say that I have never witnessed such a beautiful city with so much history and beauty to it. Our original plan was to head out there for the Lollapalooza Music Festival but we decided to extend our trip to do some sight seeing and only attended the festival for two days – Friday and Sunday because LCD Soundystem and Radiohead are the only bands that matter anyway right?

Where we stayed:
We stayed in the most amazing Airbnb with the sweetest hosts in a part of Chicago called Ukranian Village. It was the perfect location near downtown. Our hosts were Robyn and Ramsey and their two sweet dogs Jake and Hudson. Their 2 story condo was very modern and hip and we basically had the entire basement flat which consisted of a porch, backyard patio are, private restroom, TV and pool table. Everything about it was great, felt like we were staying at a trendy Kimpton hotel. So I 10/10 recommend.

Where we ate/drank:
If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with everything pizza. So we pretty much ate deep dish pizza at least twice a day. We ate a Lou Malnati’s which was amazing! I highly recommend it. We learned not to go off Yelp reviews when in Chicago because you can never satisfy everyone, especially tourists –everyone has their own opinion. So we just went off of what Robyn, our host said and it was the best bet because we even got a free large pizza out of it that we ate everyday for the rest of our trip.

We also visited this place called Eataly where we got to drink wine while shopping for delicious Italian food. They had pizza, pasta, and CHEESE!!! It was just such a cool experience. Can”t wait to go back.

Okay, now we didn’t eat here but Cindy’s Rooftop is the place to be if you’re ever in Chicago. It’s located on Michigan Ave. with beautiful panoramic views of Lake Michigan and Millennium park. Their Whiskey Sours ain’t too shabby either.

How we got around:
LYFT! I honestly prefer Lyft way more than Uber ANDDD if you’re a first time rider, you can save $50 in Lyft credits on your first rides. Just sign up using this link https://www.lyft.com/invite/ITZY3 or use the code ITZY3
