Warming up the House
September 17, 2016

Lupo and I decided to finally throw a housewarming party! 4 Months late but you know how that goes.. and if you don’t let me fill you in on some insight. Moving in with you significant other is such a wonderful experience. We get to hang out all the time, spend time decorating our new apartment, binge watching our fave shows, cooking together, etc. HOWEVER, it’s important to keep in mind that it doesn’t just happen over night. We realized that establishing a home takes a little more than just a mutual agreement. It takes a lot of compromise, patience, love and money (you had to know that one was coming)! Moving in also means you get to be hostesses together and for our first time doing so, I think it was a hit!

First thing’s first. Meet my boyfriend, Lupo. He’s the most handsome, selfless and loving person I know. We’ve been dating for a little over 2 and a half years now. He’s my best friend and my lil papi chulo. Without him my world wouldn’t go round.

So if you know me personally, you know that I am a sucker for meat and cheese plates whenever I go wine tasting. So I thought we thought we would share that with all of our guests and create our own custom meat and cheese platters. As much as I hate to brag, I have to say they came out exceptional and not only aesthetically pleasing but taste bud pleasing too. We got our wines, cheeses, crackers, grapes and meats (with the exception of the sausage) at Costco. The fruits, nuts, olives and pickles were from Smart and Final and the delicious figs were from Trader Joe’s. Anything else you may see on there was probably already sitting in our fridge. You can add pretty much anything you like to snack on. Our intention was to make a more “fall-like theme” cheese board.

The star of the night. Safe to say it was restocked twice and devoured 2 hours into the party. Unfortunately, I was too busy photographing the boards that it slipped my mind to take a picture of the bruschetta my boyfriend’s mom was oh so kind to make for us and the artichoke dip that Lupo made which seemed to be a big hit. But don’t fear, we will be having the dip recipe on on my blog very soon so keep checking back!
So if my friends and I weren’t in this picture you would see the bruschetta/artichoke dip station here but my friend’s are so cute that I literally had to take a picture with them at every corner of the apartment.

Let’s talk about my favorite housewarming guest, Ava Rose. Ava is one of my best friend’s one year old baby girl. She definitely stole the show and my heart.

The housewarming gifts my friends gave me were so cute and thoughtful, I appreciate each and every one of them!
Thank you all for coming, I love you all so much and we can’t wait to have you over next time!
Xo,
Itzy
