2017 “Resolutions”

January 4, 2017

Wow, what a year it’s been! — So wonderful, that I even feel guilty of feeling this way b/c all the pain and suffering that took place in the world during this past year. But it’s important to stay positive, count your blessings and nurture your successes.

2016 has personally been an amazing accomplishment for me, I’ve been just head over heels on how things have gone for me. First off,I was able to launch my blog in September which has been nothing but incredible all thanks to you guys, xx. Baby boy and I got our own place in May and it’s been one of the best decisions we made. I got a career level job at UCSB in January. I got asked to be a bride’s maid for one of my best friend’s wedding. I got to do a lot of traveling. Highlights include traveling to Seattle, Washington with my boy friend Lupo and being able to attend Sasquatch Music Festival, flying to Chicago with my best friend to go to Lollapalooza and see some of my favorite bands and going on a cruise to Mexico with my family.

But if you’ve all kept up, then I’m sure you know this by now. This year also allowed me to a lot of reflecting and there are a few goals (goals are more realistic than resolutions in my opinion) that I am planning on accomplishing in 2017 and I thought if I wrote them down and shared them with someone, I would be more inclined to do them.

Goal #1: SAVE MONEY

This one is a big one for me. I like to buy clothes/shoes and A LOT of it but in 2017 I plan on taking it down a notch, or 3. I have to get rid of some clothes before buying more.

Goal #2: Healthier lifestyle (eat more salads)

I’m sure this is a common resolution for many Americans. Don’t get me wrong, I’m usually really good about working out, having a juice cleanse every now and then but with having a few drinks every weekend and indulging in desserts  (hot cheetos) every time I have a sweet tooth (craving), it does not balance out very well.

Goal #3: Making the most of my time

This means no more rolling out of bed at 7:30 to make it to bed at 8am but waking up at 6 …okay 6:30 and have a chance to actually make myself pretty and breakfast before heading to work. Who knows? Maybe I may squeeze a morning workout in there too.

Goal #4: Staying off my phone

I enjoy taking pictures and sharing those special moments with my followers. However, being constantly caught up on my phone makes it difficult to work on my relationships and engaged with my loved ones.

Goal #5: Remember to breathe

This one might go hand in hand with the previous 2. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for the little things but my life often seems very fast paced that I don’t take time to stop and take in the moment to admire the beauty that surrounds me.

Goal #6: Choose your battles

I tend to be very stubborn, I know, hard to believe. Haha. It must be the Taurus in me. I like a good argument, especially when I know I’m right. But this year, I plan to practice patience and accept that’s it’s okay to let things go sometimes. Whether it’s a dispute at work, amongst family, between me and my significant other or a friend. Being right isn’t always the only way to gain respect.

Goal #7: Blog Blog Blog Blog

With the holidays, I have slacked off a little with keeping up on my blog posts and for that I am very sorry. I plan to make a routine and schedule of blog posts and promise to change it up with some a variety of food/drink, travel and fashion posts. It’s tough when I want to come home after a long day of work and just watch my favorite show (Vanderpump Rules or the Bachelor), eat some din din with my bubby and call it a day. But I love what I do and I love you guys for being so supportive so I just need to remember and do my best to stay on top of it.

Ultimately, I hope that this year, I can work with more brands, continue traveling and cherish every special moments with my loved ones. I’m so excited for this year and I wish you guys the happiest year!

So Cheers to 2017 topping this past year!!

I’d love to hear some of your resolutions! Lmk xx
