Lupo and I kicked off our summer on the beaches of Mexico. It was truly a dream vacation, thanks to Santa Barbara Travel Bureau.
I usually enjoy planning our travel plans but it’s safe to say, that for someone who is expected to make numerous decisions all day, plotting travel plans can sometimes feel like a chore. With so many options now, it can get pretty overwhelming. Especially for someone as indecisive as me. Plus, we’ve been on a very strict budget with our upcoming wedding that I didn’t even know if it was financially realistic for us. So it was a delight having SB Travel Bureau take over and plan this perfect little vacation for us two, to say the least.
A little bit about Santa Barbara Travel Bureau:
SB Travel Bureau is a travel agency that helps you plan your next vacation. From figuring out budget, destinations, flights and accommodations to tours, transportation and everything in between. Whether it’s for a romantic getaway (like ours), business trip or a bachelorette weekend, they’ve got you covered. All you really have to do is show up and enjoy yourself without any worries or inconveniences.
The Planning Process:
I’ve never been on an easier trip. A travel advisor who specializes in the destination you’re interested in traveling to will help you step by step to guarantee you the perfect trip based on location, budget, and your travel interests. Maybe you have no idea where you want to go? Well they can help with that too. For example, we were pretty open to anything. We just knew we wanted to go somewhere tropical, preferably a place in Mexico we hadn’t been to yet.
My favorite thing about working with them is that if any question came up while traveling, I could just email/call my advisor to help and she took care of it immediately.
The Travel Experience:
Our Travel Advisor printed out our itineraries for the next 6 days based on some of mine and Lupo’s interests.
We started our trip with 2 nights at the W in Punta de Mita. At arrival, we were greeted with a passion fruit drink which may be the best drink I’ve ever had. To our surprise we also had our own make your own cocktail kit waiting for us in our room. Our room was located in the “jungle” side of the hotel with the most stunning view.
Later, a golf cart picked us up for dinner at Venazú. This restaurant has a beautiful outside patio that had a view of the Camino Huichol which had 751,184 colorful tiles. Everywhere you turned, this hotel was decor goals. Venazú had the most amazing food options to choose from so being as indecisive as we are, it was difficult to choose. We definitely went in on the ceviche, goat cheese salad, Cochinita Pibil pizza and shrimp tamale.
The next day we had breakfast a Venazú followed by some paddle boarding and an amazing couples massage at their AWAY spa. We finished our afternoon with lunch at the most anticipated place yet, Chevycheria. It might be my favorite place yet. I crave it every day since I’ve been back. They have different styles of ceviches and aguachiles made with the most fresh fish. (My mouth is seriously watering as I write this) and it’s all on a little Chevy truck that was found on the property and they turned it into a little shack shop right on the beach. We later went shopping in a little town called Sayulita for a few hours.
Our last night we had dinner at their other restaurant called Spice Market that offers an asian fusion menu with the best options. The decor in there is vibrant and hip and the cocktails are like no other.
The next morning we left to our next destination which was The Four Seasons Punta Mita and unlike the W, the Four Seasons was the opposite of intimate. It was like a little town all on it’s own. It was definitely more of a family hotel as opposed to our previous hotel. Put it this way, there are 1,050 employees here. Mind. Blown. From kid’s centers, to lazy rivers to golf courses, tennis courts, to the most breathtaking infinity pool, this place has it ALL.
We were greeted with welcome margs + chips + guac! YUMMM. One of the many perks of booking through SB Travel Bureau! Another one was that we got an ocean front view which was to die for!
We decided to take it a little bit easier on the second half of the trip since we wanted some downtime to layout and relax. By taking it easier I didn’t mean in the food department.
On the first full day there, we started off with breakfast at Dos Catrinas which downstairs is a restaurant with THE BEST breakfast buffet (which is included when booking through SB Travel Bureau) and the top part is a nighttime bar with the coolest views of the beach.
Choosing my favorite part of the Four Seasons is almost impossible because every place we went exceeded our expectation. We really enjoyed our time in the infinity pool and the adult pool was perfectly secluded, with the best oysters and decor goals and the lazy river was so calming, esp w/ a spicy marg in hand. However, I will say my favorite experience was sunset fishing with Lupo on the beach. A literal dream. It’s like we had the beach to ourselves on the most perfect day, as we drank beer and attempted to catch fish. (keyword: attempted)
During the last night of our dreamy vacation, we had a fancy dinner on the beach at their seafood grill & restaurant, Bahía where we watched the most breathtaking sunset which completed our 6 days of pure bliss.
The Four Seasons is booking for their festive holiday season so I definitely encourage looking into it if you’re looking to escape the cold to warm and tropical weather. They also offer villas where you can get discounts up to $2,000 off your stay if you book it for 7 days which includes round trip transfers, grocery credit + more.
Reliving this vacation as I write this makes me miss it so much so I definitely will be back or will be planning another trip through SB Travel Bureau very soon. If you’re looking to book a vacation in the near future, definitely reach out to them. You don’t have to live in Santa Barbara to use them and there’s so many perks aside from the ease and convenience. If you contact them, be sure to let them know I sent you! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
